SAGE~ an aromatic herb, used very simply in the dishes it enhances ~ wisdom
Simplicity and the pursuit of wisdom are the two characteristics that have always defined our journey, making it an ideal name for us.
SAGE is an endeavour by food enthusiasts who believe that a healthy and sustainable lifestyle is as critical for us as it is to the environment. Our products ranging from homemade Cheese to home-brewed Kombucha provide a lifestyle choice for people seeking more than just organic food – knowledge of where and how their food is grown; an understanding of how their food choices impact them and the environment and the opportunity to make the sustainable choice when available.
Sustainability has always been a driving force at the core of SAGE’s journey. Over the years we have tried to learn more and constantly implement incremental changes to make our practices more viable & sustainable for the future. Some of these practices include waste segregation, which allows us to compost our food waste at the farm and recycle our paper and plastic waste while reducing single-use plastic at our store. We practice seasonality and use local produce whenever possible and reduce farm waste through innovative cooking at our kitchen. When nature blesses us with a bumper crop, we extend the life of the produce by solar drying the excess and preserving it for a variety of purposes, thereby reducing food wastage.
Over the years, SAGE has worked towards building a community that brings together both environmentally conscious consumers as well as passionate creators. Through it’s store, SAGE lends a platform to micro-entrepreneurs who offer sustainable alternatives and eco-friendly products. Through our farms, we work to offer viable opportunities to genuine organic farmers to keep them incentivised to grow produce naturally. All farm produce is priced to ensure the farmer gets a minimum 50% share of the rupee.
We are delighted to have had the support of our customers on our journey so far and look forward to learning and doing more in the years to come.
