How to make Baked Radish Crackers by Kavitha Mantha





  • 1 cup grated radish
  • ½ cup Whole Grain flour
  • 4 tbsp Cold Pressed Groundnut Oil
  • Baking tray
  • 1 tbsp Oil for greasing
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Preheat the oven to 180 degrees Celsius
  • Toss the freshly grated radish into a round bowl and add the oil. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  • [It’s at this point that the “seasoning to taste”, made me crave for a fresh salad. I took some radish, tossed in some greens, topped it with Sunflower seeds and devoured it…but now back to the recipe]
  • Add the flour into the radish mix and start to bring it together. Use your fingers to toss the mixture so the flour coats all the radish.
  • Since we are not adding any additional moisture, use your hands to bring the dry bit in by compressing the dough around the loose flour. If you’ve worked with short pastry, that is exactly what the dough will feel like. The mixture will look a little dry and crumbly with the oil holding most of it together.
  • Grease your baking tray or line it with a silicon/baking sheet. Gently start pressing and spreading the dough until it’s as thin as a thin crust pizza dough (less than ½ cm).
  • If you’d like your crackers in even shape, oil a pizza cutter and cut your shapes at this point.
  • Bake for 8-10 minutes on one side. Remove from oven and turn over and back for 4-6 minutes again, until golden brown.
  • If you are okay with uneven shapes, let the crackers cool. The should come off quite easily off the tray at this time. Break into pieces and store in an airtight container for upto a week.

Serving Tips:

  • These crackers pair perfectly with our Mixed green hummus and Tomato Salsa.
  • If you are looking for something new to serve up to your guests, leave the crackers intact and just top with fresh onions and tomatoes and let your guests, break them and enjoy this delicious combination.
